A Review of Ethical Considerations in PT Practice

Course Description

This course provides an overview of common ethical issues that pertain to PT and the ethical concepts and guidelines that inform PT practice. The course reviews the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) Code of Ethics and its relevance in relation to the ethical topics covered in this course. We reference common bioethics principles including respect for autonomy, beneficence, non-maleficence, justice, fidelity, and veracity in addition to topics addressing cultural competency and clinical research ethics.

How to Register

This course is delivered via Harbor. Follow the instructions below to self enroll in the course.

MUSC Users

  • Once you have created your account, log into Harbor.
  • Once you are logged in, you can access the course directly via this link https://musc.mrooms3.net/enrol/index.php?id=40370 or type “A Review of Ethical Considerations in PT Practice” into the “Search courses” bar and click “Go.”
  • On the course page, click the course name to access the enrollment key field. Type PTETHICS (case sensitive) and click “Enroll Me.”
