The Education component is a crucial aspect of NC NM4R's offerings, with a range of sessions from introductory to advanced, designed to teach the basic science and application of neuromodulation as it applies to rehabilitation. If the Center's workshop offerings are not suitable for your needs, we offer customized training through our Collaboration component.
The Level 1 workshop is generally offered in the Fall season of each year, and has proven to be a helpful introduction for new researchers as well as a good overview for those more established in the field. The Level 1 workshop lasts one week and covers a range of neuromodulatory techniques, including Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation, Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation, and Operant Conditioning of EMG-Evoked Potential.
The Level 2 workshops are advanced, week-long, in-depth examinations of specific neuromodulatory techniques and how they may be applied to rehab. Offered in the Spring season, past Level 2 workshops have covered Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation, Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation, and Operant Conditioning of EMG-Evoked Potential, with offerings on subjects such as Vagal Nerve Stimulation under consideration for future classes.
In addition, the Education component offers various conferences. While not regularly scheduled, past conferences have offered teaching and discussion on Operant Conditioning of EMG-Evoked Potential and advanced techniques in combining TMS and/or FMRI and/or EEG.
