A Message from Program and Department Leadership
At the Medical University of South Carolina, we are committed to developing educational programs that meet the highest standards of quality, innovation, and impact. Following thoughtful evaluation, we have made the decision to postpone the launch of the proposed Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies – Hybrid program and will not enroll a Spring 2027 cohort. Because of this postponement, MUSC has voluntarily withdrawn its application for provisional accreditation at this time.
This decision reflects our responsibility to ensure that any new program meets MUSC’s standards for academic quality, student support and long-term success. While a future launch date has not been announced, MUSC remains committed to continuing development of the hybrid PA program and will share updates as planning progresses.
We recognize the time and effort applicants have invested. MUSC will communicate directly with affected applicants and will automatically process eligible application fee refunds. Please refer to the FAQ below for additional information.
Sincerely,
Brian Sady, DMSc, PA-C,
Division Director, Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies – Hybrid
Associate Professor, College of Health Professions
