Cami has been working in higher education for over 25 years and with the College of Health Professions since 2009. Prior to that, she was the Associate Director of Transfer Students at the College of Charleston. Cami’s received her undergraduate degree from Northwood University in Midland, MI, and has her master’s degree in education from the Citadel. Her passion is focused on student-centered activities and making sure all students feel welcome, engaged, and appreciated while they are with us at MUSC. Originally from Michigan, Cami decided to move to Charleston in 1996 in search of some sunshine in her life and feels it was the best decision ever!

Erica Martino, LMSW, MPH

Associate Director of Student Diversity
and Community Outreach

Erica is a licensed master social worker with a passion for advancing equity, particularly educational equity. She has worked at MUSC since 2016, more recently joining the College of Health Professions as the associate director for Student Diversity and Community Outreach in Fall 2021. In this role, she supports current students from underrepresented and minority backgrounds, manages the college’s student pathway programs, and leads the community outreach and engagement initiatives with local K-12 schools. Erica also serves as the advisor for the college’s Student Diversity Leadership Council (SDLC) and co-chair of the College of Health Professions Diversity & Inclusion Committee. Prior to joining the College of Health Professions, Erica worked as a program manager in the Hollings Cancer Center’s Office of Community Outreach and Engagement, where she coordinated various community outreach initiatives and managed federally funded student pipeline programs. A South Carolina native, Erica received her undergraduate degree in psychology and health promotion from Charleston Southern University and a dual master’s degree in public health and social work from the University of South Carolina. Erica brings a student-centered and equity focused approach to her role and enjoys supporting students throughout their academic journey.
