30 Years of Leadership: MUSC DHA Alumni Reflect on the Program That Shaped Their Careers

For three decades, the Medical University of South Carolina's Doctor of Health Administration (DHA) program has prepared healthcare professionals to lead with purpose, influence policy, and drive meaningful change in healthcare delivery.

As part of our 30th anniversary celebration, we’ve asked alumni to reflect on the moments, mentors, and lessons that shaped their journeys. Their stories reveal what makes the MUSC DHA experience unlike any other.

Learning to Lead

For many alumni, the DHA program marked a shift in the way they viewed their role in healthcare. What began as a pursuit of an advanced degree became an opportunity to think more strategically, broaden their influence, and develop the confidence to lead.

Looking Ahead

As the Doctor of Health Administration (DHA) program looks toward its next 30 years, it's evolving to meet the needs of today's healthcare professionals. Students can now choose between two learning formats: a hybrid experience that combines online coursework with immersive on-campus sessions in Charleston, or a fully online option with no required travel.

For three decades, MUSC’s DHA program has helped shape healthcare leaders who have gone on to make a meaningful impact across the field.
