First Genetic Counseling Grads

As a student in MUSC’s BS in Healthcare Studies (HCS) program, Ashley Newton balanced working full time in a hospital lab, raising a child with complex health needs, and navigating school during a global pandemic. Since graduating in 2020, Ashley has earned her master’s degree and become a full-time faculty member at Trident Technical College—helping future health care professionals find their path, just like she found hers through HCS.
