Shadowing a Perfusionist

An admissions requirement for the entry-level Master of Science in Cardiovascular Perfusion is to complete a shadow log after shadowing a perfusionist. We do not require that the shadowing experience be done at MUSC, yet if you would like to shadow with us, please read below for further instructions.

In order to shadow at MUSC, please provide the following information to roperde@musc.edu:

• Complete Career Exploration Request (PDF) and Confidentiality and Consent forms (PDF).

  • Please note that we schedule shadowing on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays only. Under Specific Date and Time Available on the Career Exploration Request form, we ask that you provide at least 3 dates that you would be available to shadow.  
  • Under the Date of Visit on the Confidentiality and Consent form, write TBD by CVP program.

     

• Provide all immunization records (immunization records must include: MMR, Varicella, Tdap, Hepatitis B, TB test and flu shot)
  

  • Tdap must be within 10 years

  • TB test must be within 3 months

  • Current flu shot for any job shadowing scheduled between October 1- March 31

After your paperwork has been approved and your date confirmed, we will email you back with further directives in preparation for your shadowing experience at MUSC. Please note, we allow a person to shadow a perfusionist just once at MUSC.
