The Health Informatics accreditor of the Medical University of South Carolina is the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM). The College’s accreditation for the Master of Science degree in Health Informatics has been reaffirmed through 2027-2028. The Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM) strives to provide the public with effective and consistent quality monitoring of health informatics and health information management programs through maintenance of accreditation processes.

CAHIIM is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).

MUSC Accreditation

MUSC is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award baccalaureate, masters, and doctorate degrees. Additionally, MUSC is approved to participate in the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements. NC-SARA is a voluntary, regional approach to state oversight of postsecondary distance education.
