The National Institutes of Health has awarded Steven Kautz, Ph.D., a $6.5 million grant to start a center focused on precision neurorehabilitation research to help people affected by strokes and other neurological conditions.

As a student in MUSC’s BS in Healthcare Studies (HCS) program, Ashley Newton balanced working full time in a hospital lab, raising a child with complex health needs, and navigating school during a global pandemic. Since graduating in 2020, Ashley has earned her master’s degree and become a full-time faculty member at Trident Technical College—helping future health care professionals find their path, just like she found hers through HCS.
