What Does the Hybrid DPT Program Entail?

The MUSC Hybrid DPT Program provides a dynamic, team-based educational experience designed to reflect the realities of modern clinical practice:

  • Online Academic Coursework: Complete interactive, faculty-led courses covering foundational and advanced clinical knowledge from anywhere in the U.S.
  • In-Person Immersion Labs: Participate in intensive, hands-on training at MUSC’s Charleston campus under the guidance of expert faculty.
  • Real-World Clinical Experience: Build your clinical skills through full-time clinical education at program-assigned sites. While efforts are made to consider your location, local placement is not guaranteed, students should be prepared to travel or temporarily relocate for clinical training.
  • Cohort-Based Learning: Work closely with a consistent group of peers through every stage of the program, online and in person.
  • Strong Peer Community: Form lasting connections through group projects, lab intensives, and academic teams that foster collaboration and mutual support.
  • Academic Team Model: Learn in structured academic teams that emphasize peer learning, shared responsibility, and real-world teamwork, mirroring collaborative clinical environments.
  • Telehealth-Ready Curriculum: Gain specialized training in virtual care delivery. You’ll graduate equipped to lead in both traditional and digital healthcare settings.

Students benefit from the accessibility of a hybrid learning model while meeting the same rigorous standards as MUSC’s residential DPT program.
