Each year, U.S. News & World Report releases their best jobs rankings. Their lists include “100 Best Jobs,” “Best Business Jobs” “Best-Paying Jobs,” Best Health Care Jobs,” “Best STEM Jobs,” “Best Health Care Support Jobs” “Best Jobs for Work-Life Balance,” and “Best Technology Jobs.”

Their 2024 lists are out, and several professions taught in the MUSC College of Health Professions are ranked among the “best.”

While it isn't an option to become a "data scientist" at MUSC, the College of Health Professions offers a clear pathway to become a health care data analyst after earning your MS in Health Informatics. Health Informatics combines elements of health care, information technology, and data science to create solutions that optimize health care delivery and decision-making. Our 16-month online program prepares you to take on roles that make data-driven decisions in the health care field.

Medical and Health Services Manager

Health administration professionals are essential in managing health care facilities and organizations efficiently. They play a crucial role in ensuring the delivery of quality health care services to patients while effectively managing resources, implementing health care policies, and navigating complex health care systems. MUSC offers both a master’s and a doctorate in health administration to educate both novice and experienced health care leaders.

Nurse Anesthetist

Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) are advanced practice registered nurses (APRN) who have been providing quality anesthesia services in the United States for more than 150 years. MUSC’s Anesthesia for Nurses program is the longest continuously running program in the College of Health Professions. During our three-year doctorate program, registered nurses are trained in all facets of nurse anesthesia.

Occupational Therapist

Occupational therapists (OTs) help their patients develop, recover, improve, and maintain skills needed for daily living and working. They work with a diverse range of patients in a variety of settings from pediatrics to stroke rehabilitation. MUSC’s OT program is ranked No. 14 in the nation and offers both an entry-level and a post-professional doctorate program to serve both individuals new to the field and experienced OTs.

MUSC’s nationally-ranked Doctor of Physical Therapy program prepares students to be caring and engaged providers.
