Clinical Instructor Toolbox

The Division of Cardiovascular Perfusion at the Medical University of South Carolina offers a full-time, year-round program delivered over five consecutive semesters. The first three semesters of coursework are provided through both on-site and asynchronous learning management systems. On-site instruction leverages classroom, laboratory, and clinical environments to align theoretical knowledge with clinical skill development. The final two semesters are devoted to full-time clinical instruction at partnering healthcare facilities throughout the United States. A total of four supervised clinical rotations are aimed at building competence in fundamental clinical skill development. The practice and feedback acquired through our valued clinical affiliates will enhance the confidence necessary to graduate and independently deliver safe Perfusion care.

The CVP program at MUSC is always looking for new opportunities to provide clinical instruction for our students. Clinical instructors are an integral part of the teaching program. Instructors will serve as role models for the student and, through guidance and teaching, will help students prepare autonomous, compassionate, competent, and ethical entry-level perfusionists.
